Planer / Thicknesser
With the new hms 260 ci you can guarantee perfect
planing results every time. This is due to a combination
of factors including the solid cast iron construction,
powerful motor and the unique vulcanized rubber
feed system on the thicknessing mode. The moderately
set speed feed of 5m/min allows the timber to be
planed at a pace that gives a guaranteed ripple
free finish. In addition, the graduated thicknessing
scale accurate to 1/10th mm assures that perfect
results are achieved on hard soft, and even wild
grain timbers.

The
new scheppach “ci“ planer series sets
new standards in both innovation and
traditional manufacturing quality.
Ten scheppach advantages which speak for themselves:
1. Solid cast iron planing &
thicknessing tables are the heart and soul of the
new “ci“ models.
2. Twin feed rollers vulcanised
with a thick rubber sleeve totally eliminate every
trace of indentation marks when thicknessing. (See
illustration on page 35).
3. Four strong threaded trapeze
spindles ensure accurate and easy rise and fall
adjustment of the thicknessing table. A final adjustment
to 1/10th millimetre over the total planing width
guarantees a perfect finish – even on wild
grain timbers.
4. Unique clutch mechanism to feed
rollers offers safety protection and the possibility
to disengage feed rollers when surface planing.
5. Continuous chip removal adjustment
when planing together with the accurately machined
cast tables ensure utmost planing accuracy.
6. The exceptionally large tilting
planing fence, tiltable up to 45° is ideal for
optimum guidance of the workpiece.
7. Micro safety switch offers maximum
safety protection against inadvertent engaging of
the machine when thicknessing before extraction
hood is locked in position.
8. Integrated suction system for
both surface planing and thicknessing modes ensures
compliance with Health & Safety requirements
in the workplace.
9. Compliance with “CE“,
“GS Safety Tested“ and “GS Wood Dust
Tested“ safety requirements guarantees adherence
to all safety regulations for both employer and
employee in the working environment.
10. Powerful induction motors (single
and three phase) allow chip removal even up to 5mm.
